Cannot Overthrow I&I

“Gamaliel, one learned in the law, warns Israel of their attitude to the apostles and their teaching. ‘Refrain from these men,’ he says, ‘and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it.’ And so we see today the Bible with its wonderful message reaching the remotest parts of the earth.” #QHS

Who Am I
to disturb that belief
which johannes guy
blind and stiff
could win my pride
even the priest
of jewish remind
won’t cope with
something so wide
they never seen
Jah say the time
is now and here
I’ve read the sign
they have reached
remotest sides
with Gospel script
modern lines
woudn’t admit
ignorant crime
in global lit
literary shine
education the key
Gideon shrines
will open quick
master is time
history picks
by judgment tides
those who resist
with bias to inquire
they still insist
to lead the fight
I faith persists
in this
eternal fire.

Learn and Teach

“It is not enough for the children of Ethiopia to be recipients of education. They should never forget that the responsibility for passing on this knowledge to others and of handing it over to the next generation rests on them.”
(Selected Speeches p.8 )
“Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”
(Deuteronomy 11, 18-19)
Don#’t be wise
with yourself only
share the light
if you have something
to do it right
for your brethren
how much might
received in schooling
now should write
return the service
teach your eye
reciprocate it
with another guy
kingdom in shaping
especially the child
youths need aiding
heritage to refine
a quality of races.

Education is the Key

“The key for the betterment and completeness of modern living is education.”
(Selected Speeches p. 34)
“Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.”
(Luke 11, 52)
Look a key
how much precise
ingenuity
technically fits
the hole
and gears rotate,
measure the lock
solve the problem
to open the port
expand the frontier
of my liberty place,
or keep it closed
and safe
science of mind
gives force
to my hand of right
harness
the space,
and patronize
width and length
I owe
I shall enter
the room
a globe
of complete size,
while fool
is still knocking
in vain
cannot born
again
on the other side.
